Climate Alliance Austria: Achieving more together

Sustainability is more than just a trend—it’s a way of life. That’s why the Hotel zur Pfeffermühle is delighted to now be an official member of Climate Alliance Austria, joining a strong network of committed businesses. Together with other hosts in St. Anton am Arlberg, we are sending a clear message in support of climate protection, sustainable hospitality, and responsible business practices. 

Why this matters to us

The Alpine region is one of Europe’s most climate-sensitive areas—climate changes affect us here sooner and more severely than elsewhere.

For us as hosts, this means: We must act today so that tomorrow we can still offer the same diversity of nature, experiences, and hospitality that you value so much about us. Joining the Climate Alliance starts right here: raising awareness, developing measures, taking responsibility. 

Our measures – concrete and tangible

As part of the Climate Alliance process, we have worked with experts to create a climate plan that defines concrete steps toward greater sustainability in our operations. These include, among other things:

• More efficient energy and water consumptionPromoting climate-friendly mobilityAn increased proportion of regional & seasonal productsMeasures for waste prevention and circular economyRaising awareness among our employees and guests

With these measures, we not only contribute to climate protection but also create an even more mindful, high-quality guest experience that combines appreciation for nature and culture. 

Achieving more together

Our participation was part of a joint project between KLAR! Arlberg Stanzertal, the St. Anton Tourism Association, and the Tyrol Climate Alliance. Through workshops and exchange forums, we were able to network with other tourism providers, learn from one another, and develop creative solutions—a powerful example of regional climate protection with a sustainable outlook.
