And even if he was likely picturing a classic, hearty American breakfast in his mind’s eye: What might the master of words have said had he known about our legendary Pepper Mill Breakfast back then?
Let us treat your palate to our abundant vitality buffet daily from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m.—whether you’re a hotel guest, a guest from another hotel, a local, a hiker, a ski tourer, or a day-tripper. Thanks to our excellent location, nature lovers can fuel up perfectly for their eventful day in St. Anton am Arlberg. During the summer months of July and August, you even have the option of enjoying breakfast on our sun-drenched terrace. This is the ideal way to start your day, no matter where the hiking trail, bike tour, or ski slope takes you. After all, breakfast is considered the most important meal of the day, especially when it’s packed with athletic activities.
What the Pfeffermühle has to offer
A full pampering experience featuring regional and organic delicacies. We source our products, of course, from quality suppliers such as Rapunzel or Demmer Biotee. In the spirit of sustainability, we also prioritize larger containers to reduce unnecessary packaging waste. It’s often the many small things that make the big difference.
Our selection is also extensive: our breakfast buffet is guaranteed to leave nothing to be desired. Enjoy homemade treats, such as kombucha—a beverage made by fermenting sweetened tea that aids digestion. Oxymel, a healing drink known since ancient times, has also long been a staple here. It is a mixture of honey (“meli”), vinegar (“oxos”), and selected herbs. In this region, it is also known as “sour honey.” Thanks to its abundance of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, this drink has soothing, immune-boosting, and detoxifying effects for young and old alike.
Our variety of egg dishes is certainly a highlight. The “Riffler” farmer’s omelet with bacon, onions, and vegetables, as well as the “Zwölferkopf” fried egg with crispy fried ham, draw hearty breakfasters to the table. Our “Patteriol” scrambled eggs with fresh herbs and “Hirschpleiskopf” with Styrian pumpkin seed oil and roasted pumpkin seeds offer vegetarian delights. Yes, even the vegan community can dig into our “egg dish”: Hidden under the name “Hochkar” is a vegan scrambled egg dish with tofu, turmeric, mushrooms, zucchini, and soy sauce—everyone gets their fill here!
But of course, we also have something for those with a sweet tooth, treating them to Palatschinken with various fillings such as delicious nut nougat cream, wonderful apricot jam, or cinnamon and sugar. Equally sweet is our vegan energy boost to start the day: warm porridge with oat milk.

Coffee, tea, and Ovaltine
For those whose appetite isn’t quite awake yet in the morning, we recommend our hot breakfast drinks: a classic espresso, creamy cappuccino, or filter coffee are just as much a part of the menu as hot chocolate, tea, or—yes, it still exists—Ovomaltine!
And the milk for your coffee? It’s naturally regional, lactose-free, or—thanks to soy and oats—purely plant-based. And maybe your appetite will kick in after all, and you’ll enjoy the Pfeffermühle breakfast to the fullest.

Our restaurant truly has the perfect breakfast option for every taste. Due to limited seating, we recommend that guests from out of town and locals reserve a table via email or phone the day before their planned visit. A spot at our breakfast buffet costs €22.00 for guests from out of town.
