Ski Arlberg, the superlative among the ski areas

Swooping down endless slopes: One glance out of the windows of our hotel explains why the St. Anton ski area has an international reputation – and not just since the Alpine Ski World Championships took place in 2001

The panoramic view of the mountain world with its mighty peaks already suggests the sheer endless skiing terrain on the Arlberg. The enormous ski area Ski Arlberg comprises over 300 spectacular kilometres of pistes and 200 kilometres of deep snow runs accessed by 88 top-modern lifts and cable cars. Perfect conditions for first-time skiers, pros and powder hounds. The Arlberg ski area is not only known as one of the most snow-sure regions of the Alps but also ranks among the world’s five largest ski areas. So it’s pretty obvious that the region offers a huge variety of downhill slopes for all levels of ability.

Endless freeride options make the Arlberg ski area a true paradise for off-piste skiers and snowboarders. The STANTON PARK near the Rendlbahn will get your adrenaline pumping. Rails, boxes and kickers for shredding and jumping attract aspiring and seasoned freestyle fans alike.

The Valluga, at 2811 metres the highest peak of the Arlberg region, affords breathtaking views and is a must-visit during your holidays. "Simply awesome": Skiing in the Arlberg region. During your ski holidays in the Arlberg region, the world-famous cradle of alpine skiing, you are sure to encounter a true classic of Austrian music history:  "Weil Schifoan is des leiwandste wos ma sich nur vurstelln kann."

Skiing is the most awesome thing imaginable – says the ski anthem by Austrian singer Wolfgang Ambros. And everyone who has experienced this feeling of blissful happiness on the slopes of the Arlberg can only agree with him. A ski holiday in St. Anton is simply "leiwand", which is an Austrian slang word for "awesome".
